Millions of dollars that vanished from the Swiss bank accounts of Rene Rivkin after he died could be retrieved following a court decision in the UK, The Australian reports.
According to the newspaper, Mr Rivkin's trustee in bankruptcy, Anthony Warner of WarnerKugel, has won a court battle against the late-stockbroker's former Swiss lawyer to gain access to two offshore structures known as Laira.
However the decision does not allow the Australian Taxation Office or the Australian Securities and Investments Commission to know details of the amount of money that was transferred or withdrawn from Laira, or by whom.
Mr Rivkin took his own life in May 2005, following a bout of severe depression in the wake of his conviction for insider trading in 2003.
